RSS guide to everyone
RSS is an abbreviation for Really Simple Syndication. It is a web feed that publish updated content in a blog, news feed or podcast. XML is the language that used to make it. The visitor can access any RSS feed which are from favorite sites via RSS reader(Aggregator) . So readers don’t need to visit to web sites every day. If you have to access more favorite blogs, this is the easiest and efficient way to manage everything.
Currently RSS on the newest version RSS 2.0.when you visit a blog, you can see RSS icon at the top of right side.(in most cases). You can identify it very easy. Orange one is the default one that is used in 90% blogs.
But some bloggers have changed the color or the shape. For an example i use blue color, large feed button for my RSS feed.
let see some advantages of RSS feed.
- Blog owner can keep visitors
- Save time to visit many blogs for visitors
- Visitors can read updated articles without visiting many web sites
- It can be used as the sitemap
- The recent post can be added to a forum profile (DigitalPoint etc )
Google reader is the most popular aggregator with smart structure. But you can use other aggregators like yahoo , RSS news reader , Feed Agg or web browsers. Firefox has the nice rss system called Live Bookmarks.
